Skagen Salmon is ASC certified

The ASC certification is issued by an independent non-profit organization whose full name is Aquaculture Stewardship Council Limited.

Through the ASC label, aquaculture companies commit to the ASC standards, which guarantee that fish are farmed in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner.

To become certified, all processes in your farming operation are reviewed and evaluated by the ASC. Certification includes a commitment to protect the aquatic environment and reduce the use of chemicals and antibiotics.

We support WWF

The ocean covers more than two-thirds of the Earth's surface and is home to some of the world's most spectacular ecosystems. It regulates our climate, produces half of the oxygen we breathe and helps create rain and fresh water.

For centuries, we have thought of the ocean as an inexhaustible source. Today, we know that around 60 percent of known fish stocks are fully fished and 34 percent are overfished. At the same time, the sea also suffers from raw material extraction, pollution and nutrient discharges.

Unfortunately, Danish waters are no exception - they are also under pressure, both in terms of fish stocks and fish habitats. Soon the sea will no longer be able to breathe.

WWF has launched a wide range of initiatives for a better marine environment, which is why Skagen Salmon has chosen to become a corporate sponsor of WWF.
